Workshops

Providing the catalyst to get people talking. Workshops provide the space to explore the issues raised.

"...there develops a quality within the (Instant Theatre) stories which makes them comparable to myth or folklore...The story becomes stuffed full with imagery and symbols which must, just as folklore does, say something about the fears, hopes, aspirations and culture of the storymakers; in this case the audience."

Chris Johnston, director and author of 'House of Games'.

Creative workshops

Using the Instant Theatre story as a base for further activities. Because the story is their own, participants are keen to develop and explore it.

Activities include:

· creative writing
· art work
· drama activities

These activities are also used in issue-based workshops where a particular theme is explored.

Training workshops

Passing on the techniques and theories of Instant Theatre to professionals such as teachers, youth workers, nurses and care staff.

Training workshops include:

· a performance of Instant Theatre
· discussion of philosophy
· breakdown of story gathering technique
· the opportunity to practise story gathering
· guidance notes for each participant

Workshops last up to a day. Want something longer? Look at our courses.
